Amtrak to YAPC

Steve Kaftanski has offered to provide a shuttle service to anyone who wishes to come to YAPC on Amtrak. This makes Amtrak a more viable option to those wishing to attend YAPC via train. 

The nearest Amtrak station is in Columbus, WI, which is a 25 minute drive from Madison. The station code for Columbus is “CBS”. The Columbus station is quite nice for a small station. The building is old, but well maintained. It has indoor and outdoor seating, a ticket office with checked baggage hours, bathrooms, and vending machines. All of which add up to a comfortable wait before or after your train ride.

There is daily service to Columbus on the “Empire Builder” route. Chicago is the closest hub, which has many connecting services from all over the country that connect to the Empire Builder route. Therefore you can take Amtrak from just about anywhere in the country to get here.
